Agreed. If you don't want to spend a lot of money, it's better to just do a 1/4 acre correctly than 2 acres without needed lime and fertilizer just because seed is cheaper. Ask any farmer.

I would rather use clover on semi shaded trails. In more open plots I have very good luck broadcasting buckwheat after disking a then just rolling over the seeds with a lawn roller behind my ATV.

Hey man enjoying your channel. Quick question about Egyptian wheat. I planted first week of june and followed instructions to the letter but about half of the areas I need screening in my food plot are heavy weeds and not very thick Egyptian wheat. I am considering either tilling then waiting for weeds to come up and then glyphosate then plan or or just spray with glyphosate and replant now. What would you do including any other options to salvage failed egyptican wheat screening. NOTE: I am in WNY area with pretty good soil ph 6+ for this area. Using Domain Incognito which I learned about a couple years ago from your channel. Thoughts?

I remember one of your videos on trespassing..... So, I got a couple nice quality pictures of a guy with a long gun on my food plot 3/7/24. I printed out his photo showing it to the local party store and pizzeria getting "he is local, but we don't know his name". So, I joined the local chatgroup and posted his photo asking for information. Man did I stir up a hornet's nest. The best line was "You flatlanders come up her and think you own everything". Well, I did pay for my land so there is the concept of ownership. There are no mountains around. There is a bunch of welfare trailers covered with blue tarps. I did get some positive responses. Can't believe how many naive people say he was just probably lost or wondered off state land. 75 yards from a road with no trespassing signs and no state land around. I have to make my Egyptian Wheat barrier wider so these people can't see the plot from the road in the spring. He probably puffed a turkey from the road. I got a 28 lber right where he was standing the year before. I appreciate your ideas along with Chris'.

It hasn't been getting very cold here in SE Tn last several years until after hunting season. 2 years ago I planted Ladino Clover and Chicory and then overseed Rye when the clover goes dormant. That is the most utilized plot that I have planted. I have tried Brassica blends without any success except the deer hammer the radish plants. Soil ph was low to mid 5. Do you think that could be why the deer haven't loked the Brassicas?

Depends I guess. So you want a clover and chicory plot? Depending what state that will be a good fall attraction until about mid November. After that’s it’s going dormant. If you want something longer lasting for later into winter then I would disc it up and plant something such as hall pass, or maybe even show stopper

you're kinda not right when it comes to the bird scenario. A bird will not poop a clean seed. A bird will poop the seed with a good amount of poop around it. so, the seed in essence will be covered, the same as if the seed is covered when it's in the soil.

I didn’t see a handy link to Iowa DNR to confirm. This was as of April this year. This is definitely trending. Me personally, it’s not going to hurt me too bad if it comes to my state. I hate Arsenal herbicide... I had no idea how potent it was, I lost several WANTED tree's shrubs and plants because of this herbicide... I did the hack and squirt on several small volunteer tree's in my back yard and it killed a 40 foot birch that was 6 feet away from where I did the hack and squirt on that little unwanted tree... this stuff is ridiculously strong and kills EVERYTHING around it grass, brush, bushes, plants even tree's that are not in my yard. This should come with a warning that anything within 30 feet in diameter has the potential of being killed...
